| The award-winning Yoropen is an innovation in ergonomic pens. Uniquely designed for more comfortable and ‘strain free’ writing, it represents the biggest step forward since the biro was invented in 1945.
The Yoropen is suitable for everyone including right and left handed writers, children learning to write, students taking exams, and people with writing difficulties such as dyspraxia, arthritis, or RSI. It was the Gold Medal Winner at the Geneva 2002 Salon International Invention awards, the world's largest and most prestigious invention fair.
The Yoropen range is split into three models; standard, superior and executive. The standard Yoropen is a disposable ballpen or pencil, and is recommended for young writers up to adults. It also comes in a mini refillable pencil for pre-schoolers aged 3-6 years and is the only pencil for small hands that has been tested and approved by writing specialists and educators. The Superior Yoropen is refillable and has a chunkier design, better suited to adults. The Executive Yoropen is made from brushed aluminium, is heavier and fitted with a very smooth ballpen refill.
How the Yoropen works:
- Adjustable grip – the tripod grip rotates until you find your preferred writing position
- Finger Support – the change of angle allows comfortable and natural writing with very little pressure required. Reduces writing strain.
- Visual Space – with your fingers positioned away from the nib, it’s easier to see what you are writing
How the Yoropen helps left-handers:
The angle of the pen ensures that you can clearly see what you are writing as your hand no longer obstructs your field of vision. The offset portion prevents fingers from slipping down towards the pen tip, allowing for a more relaxed grip, improving posture, saving energy and reducing writing strain. The tripod grip can be rotated until you find your most comfortable writing position and last but not least, you can eliminate any annoying smudging!
Endorsements from hand-writing experts:
Michael Woods, Editor of the Journal of the Writing Equipment Society
"The pen does what it claims - by reducing strain, improving the field of vision, encouraging correct hold and assisting left-handers. It should be particularly welcomed by educational and physiotherapy professionals as another valuable resource to help their work. A great success."
Dr Rosemary Sassoon, author of over thirty books on handwriting
“The Yoropen’s innovatively designed barrel allows a ballpoint to work at a comfortable angle. As well as the general writer of any age, the Yoropen might be of special use to those with real writing problems.”
Laura Barnett, Paediatric Specialist, Speech and Language Therapist
"I was introduced to the Yoropen and have discovered that many children, particularly left-handed users have found it helpful. I have received comments such as, 'I feel that I can sit up straight and see and not get backache' and 'I found this pen very easy to write with and did not need to move the paper as much'.’ The main benefits for left-handed users seem to be associated with being able to see what they are writing, resulting in evenly spaced writing and the fact that the Yoropen offers more comfort and less pain."
Education Editor for the Daily Telegraph
“I am rather taken by the ‘Yoropen!’ a more comfortable handhold, a clearer view of what you are writing and, for left-handers, less likelihood of smudging.”
Jack Romano, Editor General of the Writing Equipment Society
“No argument from me, I can write with it for hours and the more I use it the more I like it.”
